Brian Doherty | President and CEO of Valeo Resources
Senior Petroleum Industry professional with 30+ years experience and a sound working knowledge of the Western Sedimentary Basin. Brian has worked in a range of corporate environments and capital regimes and has developed a successful track record in generating new play concepts or identifying unrecognized potential. A forward looking and strategic thinking professional who can contribute effectively to company growth and take leadership in determining what skills, staff, directions and resources are needed to make a multi-disciplined group successful and cost effective. A team player and leader with well developed business presentation and analytical skills including acquisition and divestiture dealings.
Wayne Gaskin | President of Nyquist Energy Ltd.
With 25 years of industry experience, Wayne has gained his professional knowledge from positions at Enerplus Corporation as the Staff Geophyscist, Crew Energy and Advantage Oil and Gas as the Senior GeoPhyscist and Hunt Oil of Canada and Numac Energy as a Geophysicist. All of these positions have made Wayne an expert in Deep Basin Geophysics, 3D Seismic Interpretation and Unconventional Resource development.
Paul MacKay | President and CEO of Shale Petroleum Ltd.
Paul MacKay received a B.Sc.(honours, geological sciences) from Queen’s University in 1980 and a Ph.D. from the University of Calgary (1991). He initially worked for Amoco Canada then moved to Morrison Petroleums, Northstar Energy, and Devon Canada before beginning an international consulting practice. He is currently President of Shale Petroleum Ltd. a private oil company based in Calgary, Alberta. His expertise is in fracture systems, petroleum exploration and development in structurally complex reservoirs. He teaches field courses in Structural Geology/Geophysics in the Canadian Rockies and field seminars on Fractured Reservoirs in Wyoming. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Calgary and is the Past-President of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. He is a member or the CSPG, CSEG, AAPG, and APEGA.
Monica Rovers | Head of Business Development, Global Energy for Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange
Monica Rovers is Head of Business Development, Global energy for Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) with TMX Group. she brings over 20 years of experiences in international relations and business development, working with non-profit, private and public organizations across multiple sectors. Keenly invested in international businesses growth, Monica fosters global energy development, assisting Canadian energy companies grow internationally, while encouraging foreign companies to enter the Canadian Market. She has led numerous international trade missions and build enriched local, national and international networks, particularly within the energy sector. She has had the opportunity to work in Brazil, China, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, UK, U.S. and Vietnam. Monica earned an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix an a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University.
